Good morning Rock N´Rollians!

...and what a great morning it is. Grey skies, a soothing chilly wind and 9:15 am on a saturday.

Today is the day of the dead (or is it tomorrow?), and therefore I think that beside our loved ones, we should also celebrate all of the people that got us here. I am of course referring to the musicians that way back in the day layed down the law on how to play rock.
I now that it is toooooo obvious, but I recently came into possesion of The Beatles-Remastered CD box. For those of you who missed it, it contains their entire catalouge, digitaly enhanced and polished. While listening to it i realized that their last album sounds so different from their first. Listen for yourself:







They look, sing, play and feel different. But yet, it´s still the same. What I am getting at is the fact that 40 years down the road, a good song is still a good song, and more often than not it is still the same structure  and chords that repeat themselfs. But the different styles, what you look like, play and how you act sets the tone for all the different genres of rock, and I for one am a firm believer in the fact that if you take away one major band from rock history, say Led Zeppelin, PineappleSue and all of the other great bands out there would have sounded different. Maybe alot, maybe not so much. But there would have been some change...
Another funny thought is what if there is a band "missing" from rock-history (Anvil?). How would we have sounded then?
Whatever the case may be, claiming that you are "unaffected" or whatever by "old" bands and different styles of music is in my humble opinion very hypocritical.

WOW! This post is a major bash... But do you agree? Do you disagree? Am I an idiot or a genious? please comment below.
In the meantime however, on this the day of the dead (or is it still tommorow, maybe it was yesterday...?), take some time to really reflect over the bands and musicians that are no longer here, and be honest: What type of impact have they really had on your life? I promise you, it is not small...

Hours of pain..

Today I went to the self-torturing centre (my fav tattoo studio) and got some ink under my skin. Finished practically all lines on my right arm in four and a half hours.

I must admit I'm a bit sore right now...actually so sore I'd almost like to cry. But I don't! ;)

Last night I was at the Ericsson Globe Arena watching Green Day for the first time in my life.
Must say it was a very pleasant experience =)

Found out there were still a couple of tickets for sale, and I decided to go..

Guerrilla Marketing: Pt2

Some 2000 plus years ago, Sun Zi (Tzu) wrote "The Art of War". In it he basicaly outlined what you needed in order to defeat your opponent. Another vital point in this strategy is that most of the fight can be won, long before the actual battle takes place. It is the most referenced book/text second only to the bible regarding ways of combat. It has been used in countless situations, most of wich in modern time has nothing to do with war.

What this has to do with anything? Nothing. But now you can tell your friends.

Another thing you can tell your friends is to check out our blog and MySpace! Why? Because we have the ultimate pick-me-up tunes, good values and we all wash our hands after we´ve been to the bathroom.

In short: Spread the word!

It is like the Salvation-Army says: No action is too small. Interesting thought to go with that: If you tell one friend, and she tells another and so on, and so on, that is alot of people! Time it takes for you: 3 seconds. The joy it brings to us: Priceless!

Remember: It is not vandalism if the purpose is valid. Right...?

Scrolling down here has really started the mind running as well. Maybe "The Art of War" has a lot more to do with this than initially discussed. Because, remember this, half the battle, if not more, is won before a single drop of blood has struck the ground, if planned correctly.

You tell everyone and their cousins, and we will continue catering ya´ll with warm, fuzzy feeling music and grooves!

Video nr 2 from the studio. A strong tale of wild hearts trying to be tamed. The story behind the beat. Clips that randomly fit together... What really happend with the click? (for those of you who don´t know, a "click track" is a metronome that keeps the beat in the monitor headphones during recording).

Living the Punk-Life!

Oh yes, life fast die fun. Since I don´t have to go to work until monday, and since I can´t play drums for a few more days, I try to stay busy. Pop my closet open and decide that all of my 30 shirts needs ironing attention, Life fast! A quick look at the sink shows a high probability of washing them dishes Hard!

But it is of course You, the people who read this, that is always priority numero uno in our minds, so continuing working (on the edge) on the second studio video is so cool, I probably don´t have to mention  how awesome it is!

No...? Well, at least I put on some punkish socks today. Where is our record-deal and tour bus...?

Today I pulled my back out. Again. Second time in 2 years, and I have´nt even hit 30 yet... Frustrating? Oh Yes!

Since my time is limited (seems to be all I rant about here...) I for one find it extremely annoying when I time after time don´t fuckin listen to my body, and pay the price of ignorance by being completely disabled. So, kids, respect your assets.

On a much lighter note, and to get the mood back up I decided to post a picture of Marcus when it looks like he peed his pants =)

Given a lot more pre-production thought, this piece of film history could´ve actually turned out pretty cool. Well, here is a lesson for you all: If you must do everything all at once, make sure that you don´t screw up!
The rest of the material that I could piece togheter will also be up shortly. Now I know what you´re thinkin: "jeez dipshoiit, that´s what you said last time". Well...

So I was gonna....

...iron some clothes, buy grocerys, take a shower, cut my hair. make dinner, clean my desk, play some drums, work out, read this one book, pay some bills, sleep, sleep, sleep and FINISH THE FRIKK´N VIDEO!!!! But, this little guy came along and stalled...

But thats OK, right? I´m almost done, and I also like the fact that I´m raising these two clips to the sky, when all it is is really a piece of shit. But it is our shit! And that´s whats important.

Freak accident

Blast from the past...

Yesterday, as I was going through old stuff on my computer I came across some pictures. They where all from back when life was a little bit less complicated, and all you really could complain about was how boring school was. PineappleSue  had existed for about 4 years, which means Mr. President wasn't even written yet. But the thing that really caught my attention was the fact that Micke hasn't changed a bit over the years!

The resemblance is uncanny!

We have already recieved some attention regarding this blog, wich of course brings us nothing but joy all the way down to that part of your stomach that kinda flips around when you eat candy while flying upside down. You know the spot, right?

IT`S ON!!!

Yes yes and YES! We are in buisness, and you (!), our wonderful reader is most welcome to our new blog!

The idea is simple: As often as our creative minds can muster we will, thru this channel, supply you with photos, video and the latest info regarding your new favourite band: PineappleSue. Let´s jump right in, shall we?

As some of you may or may not know we recently moved in to our new rehersal space. It is a wonderful, magical and sweaty place where we will create some of our already legendary sounds. To comemorate this historical event we decided to rehearse a cover song! But wait, there is more: Because we can, and because we want to, we hereby call the first CONTEST in to order.

What´s this here below? A video!? Why thanks a bunch! No, but really, this is the contest: This video shows us playing the before mentioned cover. If you can, thru a comment to this post, NAME THE SONG we are playing, you will recieve a free signed copy of our EP.

Sounds great, right? Oh yeah, one more thing... There can be only one winner, so whoever gets it first, gets the EP (don´t forget a shipping adress, otherwise things could get complicated...). SO: Listen hard people and good luck!

Ah come on, it wasn´t that hard!? OK, you get one clue: It´s a Blink 182 song, that has also been covered by the group All Time Low.

But, you can´t make an egg-based round meal without breaking some strings... And as always: Lead singer = lead dumbass. Try changing strings more frequently why dont you? But really, since I can´t even figure out this stupid (and self proclaimed "simple") updater in order to get a nice symetrical order in these photos, who am I to judge.

Last but not least there was the badly burned pinky-finger. The bas amp from hell struck again with an evil force, so fierce, it must have been at least 10 volts!
